Irma Boom

Irma Boom is a prominent Dutch graphic designer specializing in bookmaking, often referred to as the 'Queen of Books.' She studied fine art and graphic design at the AKI Art Academy in Enschede. After working for the Dutch government publishing and printing office in The Hague starting in 1987, she founded her own studio, Irma Boom Office, in 1991. Her work is noted for its 'architectural' approach to book design, characterized by artistic autonomy and innovative physical structures. She has created over 500 books and is a highly decorated figure in the design world.[1,3,4]
