Jaap Romijn

Jaap Romijn (1912–1986) was a versatile Dutch man of letters, including a poet, writer, journalist, publisher, and museum director. He debuted in 1943 with the short story 'Zo ging de oorlog voorbij'. During the post-war period, he was involved in the literary scene in Utrecht and worked as a publisher, notably with Uitgeverij Bruna. Romijn was a significant figure in Dutch publishing, where he contributed to the development of the Bruna publishing house. His literary output ranged from poetry to prose, and he was known for his involvement in the resistance and his contributions to Dutch literature and media throughout the mid-20th century.[1]
