James Lyle Enyeart

James Lyle Enyeart (1943–2025) was an internationally respected American curator, scholar, photographer, and author. He held significant leadership roles in the photography world, serving as Director of the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona and later as Director of George Eastman House between 1989 and 1995. His scholarly work often focused on the intersection of photography and art history, including publications on Arthur Wesley Dow and various American photographers. He was a leading figure in curation and scholarship, contributing numerous essays and books to the field.[5,6]
