Jan Baart

Jan Baart was a prominent Dutch archaeologist who served as the first city archaeologist of Amsterdam. He joined the Archaeological Department of the City of Amsterdam in 1972 and played a leading role in documenting the city's urban development through archaeological research. His work often focused on the material culture of Amsterdam, including household waste assemblages and land-reclamation techniques during the 16th and 17th centuries.[1,2]
