Jan Vonk

author · photographer

Jan Vonk is a Dutch photographer and author. He began his career as a hobbyist, documenting the 'kraakbeweging' (squatting movement) in Amsterdam, whose photographs gained international recognition. This experience led him to pursue photography professionally, opening his own studio, Jan Vonk Fotografie, in 1989. His work focuses on capturing the essence of people, buildings, and events through a lens of curiosity and personal involvement. He has also worked as an interior designer, notably co-founding Bureau Premsela Vonk with Benno Premsela in 1963.[1,2]
