Jean de La Fontaine

Jean de La Fontaine was a French dramatist, storyteller, and fabulist of the 17th century. He is most famous for his 'Fables', which were inspired by the works of Aesop and other ancient fabulists. His work elevated the fable to a respected literary genre in France. He lived during the reign of Louis XIV and was known for his moralistic approach to literature.[1,2]
