Jean-François Bauret

Jean-François Bauret (1932–2014) was a prominent French portrait photographer. Inspired by the work of Man Ray, he began his career in the 1950s and established his own studio in Paris in the early 1960s. He became well-known for his artistic approach to photography, which included high-profile portraits and publicistic works. In 1967, he gained notoriety for a controversial advertisement featuring a nude man, which caused a public scandal. His major published work includes 'Portraits d'hommes nus connus et inconnus' (1975). He was also involved in the creation of the magazine Photographie.com and founded the Bourse du talent. Bauret was recognized for his contributions to photography with the title of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.[2]
