Jean-Paul Goude is a French graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, and advertising film director. Born in Montreuil, France, he studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs before beginning his career as an illustrator. He gained significant recognition in the 1970s as the art director for Esquire magazine in New York City, where he was known for his surrealist and pop-culture aesthetic. Goude is renowned for his distinctive visual style that blends collage, photomontage, and high-fashion imagery. He has collaborated extensively with figures like Grace Jones, creating iconic album covers and music videos.
