Joel D. Levinson

Joel D. Levinson is an American art photographer and designer born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He graduated from Andrew Warde High School in Fairfield, CT, and earned a BA in Communications and a Master's in Visual Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, where he received the Eisner Prize for 'Outstanding Achievement in Photography'. Levinson has had thirteen one-man museum exhibitions and his work is represented in forty-eight museum collections across North America and Europe. His photography often explores cultural landscapes, including his extensive series on California flea markets photographed between 1975 and 1986. He has also worked as a photographer/designer for major Hollywood studios (such as Paramount Pictures and Warner Brothers) and various record companies.[1,2]
