Johannes Marius Fuchs

Johannes Marius Fuchs was a Dutch journalist, publicist, and author. Born in Amsterdam in 1905, he studied law and earned his doctorate in 1946 from the University of Amsterdam (UvA), specializing in 'Beurt- en wagenveren' (the mechanics of transport). He held various editorial positions, including serving as an editor for the Ned. Org. voor het Beroepsgoederenvervoer between 1937 and 1946. From 1947 to 1970, he served as a traffic editor at 'Het Parool'. Fuchs was a prolific writer on topics including transport, tourism, and history, authoring numerous publications such as 'Allemaal op de fiets in Amsterdam' (1978) and 'Oude dokter, kleine dichter 1819-1900' (1982). He is also noted for his work documenting the centenary of the Van Swieten shipping company.[2,3]
