John Fernhout was a Dutch photographer, cinematographer, and filmmaker whose work was deeply embedded in the Dutch modernist movement. He was a prominent figure in the New Photography circle and is celebrated for his collaboration with directors like Joris Ivens. His photographic style was often characterized by its artistic sensitivity and its ability to capture both the cinematic and the intimate aspects of daily life and social change in the mid-20th century.^[1]
