José Pedro Cortes

José Pedro Cortes is a Portuguese photographer and editor born in Porto in 1976. He co-founded the photography publishing house Pierre von Kleist editions in Lisbon. His artistic practice involves exploring themes of landscape, identity, and human presence through various photographic techniques including color and black & white, hard flash, and natural light. He has studied at the Kent Institute of Art and Design in the UK and participated in the Gulbenkian Creativity and Artistic Creation Program in Photography. Cortes is a guest professor at Università IUAV de Venezia and his works are held in several public collections across Portugal.[1,2]
