Josiah Willem (Jos) de Gruyter (1899–1979) was a Dutch art critic, museum director, and author. He served as the director of the Gronings Museum and was a significant figure in the documentation and analysis of 20th-century Dutch graphic arts and photography. His work often involved providing critical context for visual culture, including his authorship of 'The World of Van Gogh' (De Wereld van Van Gogh), which paired his text with photographs by Emmy Andriesse.
