Kadir van Lohuizen

Kadir van Lohuizen is a Dutch photojournalist and filmmaker based in Amsterdam. He began his professional career in 1988 covering the Intifada and has since worked extensively in conflict areas across Africa, including Angola, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Liberia, and the DR of Congo. He is recognized for long-term documentary projects focusing on social issues, environmental challenges, and global industries. Notable works include 'Rivers', a project documenting the world's seven rivers, and 'Diamond Matters', which tracks the diamond industry from mines to consumer markets. Van Lohuizen has received numerous international awards, including the Dick Scherpenzeel Prize for his reporting on the developing world and several World Press Photo honors. He is also a co-founder of the photo agency NOOR and serves as a lecturer and photography teacher.[1,2,3]
