Karen Tsujimoto

Karen Tsujimoto is an American art historian and curator. She has held significant curatorial positions at major institutions, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), where she served as assistant curator starting in the early 1980s, and the Oakland Museum of California, where she became a senior curator of art in 1992. Her expertise encompasses American modernism, precisionist painting, and contemporary photography. She has authored several books on notable artists such as Joan Brown and David Ireland, and her work often explores the intersection of historical materialism, Zen thought, and postmodern aesthetics in visual arts.[1]
