Larry E. McPherson

Larry E. McPherson is an American photographer and educator. He was born in Newark, Ohio, on May 1, 1943. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College in Chicago in 1976 and a Master of Arts from Northern Illinois University. McPherson is an associate professor of art at the University of Memphis, where he has also served as a faculty development grantee. His photography, which often focuses on landscapes, nature, and urban environments, has been exhibited in major institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the New Orleans Museum of Art. He is known for his specialty in printing his own dye transfer images and has received two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships in Photography. His notable publications include 'Memphis', 'The Cows', and 'Beirut City Center'.[1,2,3]
