Lucia Nimcova

Lucia Nimcova is a Slovak photographer and artist born in Humenné in 1977. She studied photography at the Silesian University in Opava (1996–2003) and later attended the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam (2007–2008). Her work explores diverse themes including social documentary, identity, and human-animal relationships. She has exhibited internationally in countries such as Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and the USA. Nimcova is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Oskar Barnack Award (2008) and the Vevey International Photography Prize Jury Special Award (2013). Her publications include 'Animal Imago' (2013), which examines our relationship with nature and animals.[1,2]
