Lynn Swigart (1930–2020) was an American fine art photographer who spent much of his life capturing the landscapes and textures of coastal New England. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he began his professional photography career in 1951 and studied under notable photographers including Minor White and George Tice. Swigart lived in Gloucester, Massachusetts, from 1994 to 2017, where he focused on the light and environment of the harbor and surrounding areas. His work is characterized by a focus on shapes, textures, and the interplay of light. The Lynn Swigart Photographic Archive was accessioned by the Cape Ann Museum in 2018.[1,2,3,4]
