Manfred Willmann
author · photographer · designer
Manfred Willmann is an Austrian photographer and editor based in Graz. He is well-known for his work as the editor of 'Camera Austria', a prominent contemporary photography magazine. His artistic practice often explores the boundaries of perception through documentary-style imagery that transcends mere registration of phenomena. One of his most significant bodies of work, 'Das Land' (1981–1993), features intensely saturated color photographs of the Slovenian border region, focusing on the people, landscape, and daily life in Styria. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Secession in Vienna.[1,2,3]
