Margit Rowell

Margit Rowell is an American art historian, critic, and museum curator who has held prominent positions at several major international institutions. She spent fourteen years (1969–1983) on staff at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York before moving to Paris to work at the Musée National d'Art Moderne, Centre Pompidou, where she served as Curator of Sculpture from 1991 to 1994. She later returned to New York to serve as Chief Curator of Drawings at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) until her retirement in 2002. Rowell is a specialist in 20th-century art, particularly sculpture and modern prints. Today, she works independently as an art historian and curator based in Paris.[1,2,3]
