Mark Feldstein

photographer

Mark Feldstein (1937–2001) was an American photographer and painter who trained as a painter before turning his focus to photography. He taught photography at Hunter College in New York City. His photographic work is characterized by urban landscapes that are almost entirely devoid of people, focusing on formal composition, texture, and high-contrast black and white imagery. His book 'Sightings' (1977) showcases these themes, emphasizing the play of light and shadow in ordinary streets, corners, and empty lots.[1,2]
