Mark Michaelson

Mark Michaelson is an editorial art director and collector based in Providence, Rhode Island. He studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York under design legends Bea Feitler and Milton Glaser. Over a 30-year career, he has served as an art director for major publications including Newsweek, Allure, New York Magazine, and Entertainment Weekly. Michaelson is also known for his work on the Best of William Burroughs CD boxed set with poet John Giorno, which received a Grammy Award nomination for album-cover design. For over twenty years, he has passionately collected American mugshots, eventually publishing 'Least Wanted: A Century of American Mugshots' in 2006.[1,2]
