Martha Schwendener is an art historian, critic, and author. She serves as a visiting associate professor at New York University and has held positions as a critic in photography at the Yale University School of Art. Her criticism has been featured in major publications including The New York Times, Artforum, and The New Yorker. She holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Center, City University of New York, where her doctoral research focused on Vilém Flusser's theories of photography.[1,2,3]
