Ryan McGinley is a contemporary American photographer known for his evocative and candid portrayal of youth culture. Born in Ramsey, New Jersey, he began his photographic practice in 1998. He gained significant recognition early in his career, becoming one of the youngest artists to have a solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 2003.
