Martie Verdenius

Martha Catharina Henderika (Martie) Verdenius was a Dutch writer, actress, cabaret artist, producer, and teacher. Born in Heerde into a wealthy notary family, she moved to Amsterdam where she began her career in the theater and cabaret scene in 1935. She was known for her linguistic sensitivity and worked as a columnist for Elsevier for fifteen years (starting around 1950). In addition to her performance work, she wrote various texts for advertising agencies and published works including 'Waarom ik nou.' and 'Je kunt niet alles hebben'. Her career spanned several decades of Dutch cultural life.[1,2,3]
