Michael James Aleck Snow (1928–2023) was a seminal Canadian multidisciplinary artist whose practice spanned painting, sculpture, film, photography, and music. A central figure in Canadian contemporary art, Snow was renowned for his conceptual approach to the artist's book and film. His 1967 film "Wavelength" is considered a landmark in avant-garde cinema. His work often explored the interplay between time, space, and media, treating the book form itself as a sculptural and performative object.
