Michel Vanden Eeckhoudt was a Belgian photographer known for his elegant and classical black-and-white photography. Born in Brussels in 1947, he began his career with reportage work, notably on immigrants in Belgium, before developing a personal body of work characterized by a 'bittersweet' humor and a deep relationship with animals. He co-founded the Agence VU' in 1986 alongside Christian Caujolle. His photography often explores human conditions, loneliness, and suffering through sharp, penetrating observations. He published several significant books, including his first major monograph, 'Zoologies', in 1982.[1,2]
