Mike Mandel

Mike Mandel is an American conceptual artist and photographer born in 1950 in Los Angeles. He is best known for his early conceptual photography projects of the 1970s, many of which were self-published and later collected in the boxed set 'Good 70s.' His work often explores the intersection of photographic imagery, popular culture, and the history of the photo book. Mandel is a long-time collaborator with Larry Sultan, with whom he produced several significant works, most notably the influential photobook 'Evidence' (1977). His practice also includes large-scale mosaic tile public artworks and collaborations with artist Chantal Zakari.[1]
