M.J. Brusse

Marie Joseph Brusse (1873–1941) was a Dutch journalist and writer. Born in Amsterdam, he moved to Rotterdam in 1894 where he gained fame as a socially conscious journalist who documented the poverty and hardships of life on the margins of society. He was a pioneer of 'new journalism' in the Netherlands, known for his personal reporting style and undercover techniques. He is also well-known for writing the novel 'Boefje'.[1,2,3]
