Morad Bouchakour

Morad Bouchakour is a Belgian photographer who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent and later in Antwerp, earning his degree in 1995. He spent significant time as a resident of New York City before establishing his practice in Amsterdam in 1997. His work is characterized by a tension between reportage photography and studied portraiture, often focusing on urban subjects and the human condition. He has been invited by prominent institutions such as Foam (Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam) and the Rijksmuseum to contribute to major exhibitions. His notable publications include 'Menhattan' (2009), 'No Pain no Gain' (2009), and 'Peking Dog' (2013).[1]
