Nicolas Faure

Nicolas Faure is a Swiss photographer and university lecturer born in Geneva in 1949. He trained as a goldsmith from 1968 to 1971 before traveling through the Middle and Far East. He became an autodidactic photographer and worked in New York from 1975 to 1980 as both a goldsmith and photographer. Since 2001, he has served as a professor at the Ecole Cantonale d'Art de Lausanne (ECAL). Faure is known for his documentary style, particularly his extensive photo series on Swiss motorways and suburban landscapes, which explore the intersection of technology and nature. His work has been exhibited internationally in cities such as New York, Berlin, and Vienna, and his photographs are held in major collections including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.[1,2]
