Norman Hall

Norman Hall (died 1978) was a prominent British picture editor who significantly influenced the development of modern photojournalism. He served as the picture editor for The Times of London, where he is credited with introducing photo essays and larger display images to the publication's layout. Prior to his tenure at The Times, which began around 1962, Hall served as the editor of the British Journal of Photography Annual and the Photography Year Book (from 1954 to 1963). He was a respected curator and mentor to numerous photographers, including Raghu Rai, and was known for his curated collection of vintage photographs, which included significant works by Dutch and British artists.[1,2,3]
