Orie Ichihashi is a Japanese photographer and cinematographer born in Tokyo in 1978. After studying at Musashino Art University (which she eventually dropped out of), she worked as an assistant in a photography studio before becoming independent in 2001. She has extensive experience in commercial photography, including advertising for major brands such as MUJI, Uniqlo, ANA, and McDonald's, as well as magazine covers and television commercials. Her photographic style is noted for its unique sense of distance and light, often capturing the 'unseen' landscapes of cities or nostalgic seaside scenes. She has also worked as a cinematographer on several Japanese films.[1,2,3]
