Paul Bogaers is a Dutch photographer, visual artist, and writer born in Tilburg in 1961. He studied at the Academie voor Beeldende Vorming and is known for his unique artistic method of combining found materials to create new images, including image collages, text collages, and photographic works. His literary work often employs a 'text collage' technique where he meticulously assembles pre-existing sentences from diverse books onto base sheets while preserving the original typography. This approach was first explored in his 1992 novella Tropenwee (Tropical Woe) and later culminated in his novel Onderlangs, which took fifteen years to complete. His work explores narrative possibilities through both visual and textual montage.[1,2,3]
