Paul Graham is a prominent British fine-art and documentary photographer known for his distinctive use of sequential color prints to explore everyday social realities and the nuances of perceptual ambiguity. Born in 1956 in Stafford, England, Graham initially trained in microbiology at the University of Bristol before transitioning to photography in the late 1970s. His work is characterized by a focus on transience, mortality, and the passage of time, often capturing people and objects in realistic, unposed settings. Graham has spent a significant portion of his career based in New York City. He has received numerous prestigious honors for his contribution to photographic culture, including the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize in 2009 and the Hasselblad Award in 2012.
