Paul Ouwerkerk

Paul Ouwerkerk is a Dutch visual artist, photographer, and graphic designer based in Amsterdam. Born in 1963 and having spent time in West Africa, he studied at the Willem de Kooning Academie in Rotterdam and the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht. His work explores the complex intersections of architecture, urbanism, landscape design, and graphic design. Over several decades, he has engaged with diverse media including painting, sculpture, photography, and digital animation. He is recognized for his involvement in visual culture and his work with prominent architectural figures, such as Rem Koolhaas' Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA). Since 2017, his artistic practice has focused on abstract painting, specifically his 'Dynamic Geometry' series, which investigates mathematical concepts and structural forms through digital and analog media.[1,2]
