Peter Fraser
photographer
Peter Fraser is a British fine art photographer known for his evocative and philosophic approach to color photography. Born in Cardiff in 1953, he began exhibiting his work in the early 1980s. His practice often explores metaphysical questions through the depiction of everyday objects and spaces, characterized by a meticulous attention to detail and rich color palettes. Fraser was an early adopter of color photography in the UK and has received international recognition for his series such as 'Ice and Water' (1993) and 'Deep Blue' (1997). He served as the British Artist in Residence in Marseilles in 1990, a period that significantly influenced his work. His photographs are held in major public collections worldwide, including the Tate, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Saint Louis Art Museum.[1,3]
