Peter Hunter
author
Peter Hunter (born Otto Salomon) was the son of German photojournalist Erich Salomon. Following his father's arrest and death in Auschwitz during World War II, he changed his name to Peter Hunter to escape Nazi persecution. He became a key figure in preserving his father's legacy, retrieving many of the negatives buried by his father before his capture. In 1956, he organized a memorial exhibition for Erich Salomon's work in Cologne. He later compiled and published several books documenting his father's life and photography, including 'Erich Salomon. Portret van een tijdperk' (1963). He also transferred the Salomon archive to the Berlinische Galerie in 1980.[1]
