Raymond Meeks

Raymond Meeks is an American photographer and author based in the Hudson Valley, New York. Born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1963, he studied Social Anthropology at The Ohio State University. His work focuses on memory, place, and the way landscapes shape individual identity. He is known for his evocative photographic style that explores atmospheric environments and family relationships. Meeks has been recognized with several prestigious honors, including a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship in Photography (2020) and a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (2022). He is also the sixth laureate of the French-American photography commission 'Immersion' sponsored by Fondation d’entreprise Hermès. His work is held in numerous public and private collections, including the National Gallery of Art, MoMA Library, and George Eastman House.[1,2]
