Rik Gadella

Rik Gadella is a Dutch photographer, writer, and gallery owner born in Aruba in 1964. He is a significant figure in the contemporary photography scene, known for his multifaceted career in the arts. In 1986, he founded Picaron Editions in Amsterdam, a publishing house dedicated to philosophy, poetry, and art. He also established a gallery in 1988 in collaboration with Peter Happel. Gadella gained international recognition as a founder of Paris Photo in 1997. Currently, he serves as the General Director of the Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden in Laos, where he promotes contemporary Lao art and indigenous plant species. His work often bridges the gap between visual art and philosophical inquiry.[1,2]
