Rob Hornstra

Rob Hornstra is a Dutch documentary photographer and visual storyteller known for his long-term projects exploring social, political, and cultural transformations in the Netherlands, Russia, and broader Europe. He graduated with honors from the Academy of Arts Utrecht in Photographic Design in 2004. His work often focuses on everyday scenes and human portraits, characterized by a 'slow journalism' approach that prioritizes depth over speed. Hornstra is also a self-publisher and has served as a co-head for photography programs at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK). He is the founder of FOTODOK – Space for Documentary Photography.[1,2,3]
