Robert Christgau is an American music journalist and critic. He was the senior music critic at The Village Voice for 37 years, where he became a prominent figure in rock criticism. Known as the 'Dean of American Rock Critics,' his work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Esquire, and NPR. He began his career as a full-time music critic in 1972.[1,4,5]
