Roxana Marcoci

Roxana Marcoci is a prominent art historian, curator, and critic who currently serves as the David Dechman Senior Curator and Acting Chief Curator of Photography at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. She earned her PhD in art history, theory, and criticism from the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University in 1998. Marcoci joined MoMA in 1999, initially as a curatorial assistant in the department of painting and sculpture. She is recognized for her work in fostering transboundary thinking across nations, regions, genders, and disciplines, with a significant focus on photography and Central and Eastern European art. She is a recipient of the 2011 Center for Curatorial Leadership Fellowship and has curated numerous major exhibitions.[1,2]
