Roy Meredith was an American writer and television producer specializing in the pictorial history of the American Civil War. He is best known for his extensive documentation and contextualization of Mathew B. Brady's pioneering photography from the era. His work often combined historical narrative with visual analysis to bring the human element of the conflict to a wider audience. In addition to his books, Meredith produced television programs such as 'The American Civil War: A Pictorial History Through the Photographs of Mathew B. Brady' in 1959.[3,4]
