Sasha Stone

photographer

Sasha Stone (born Aleksander Serge Steinsapir) was a Russian photographer who became a prominent figure in the European avant-garde during the interwar period. Working primarily with his wife Cami Stone, they established Studio Stone and were active in Berlin, Brussels, Paris, and the United States. Their work is noted for its contribution to the 'Neue Sachlichkeit' (New Objectivity) and 'Neues Sehen' (New Vision) movements. Sasha Stone was known for his innovative approach to urbanism, architecture, and portraiture, often capturing the essence of cities like Ghent in striking black-and-white photography.[3,4,5]
