Sebastião Salgado was a renowned Brazilian social documentary photographer and photojournalist known for his large-scale projects documenting human labor, environmental issues, and cultural traditions. He traveled to more than 120 countries, producing iconic works such as 'Other Americas', 'Sahel', 'Workers', 'Migrations', and 'Genesis'. His style is characterized by a dramatic use of black-and-white composition and lighting to capture the spiritual and political landscapes of rural communities and industrial sites. Beyond photography, Salgado was an environmentalist who co-founded Instituto Terra in Brazil to restore the Atlantic Forest.
