Terry deRoy Gruber

Terry deRoy Gruber is an American photographer, author, and filmmaker. He grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended Vassar College, where he served as the editor-in-chief of the college's yearbook, The Vassarion, during its second year of coeducation. His work at the college gained national attention in 1975 due to a freedom of speech controversy regarding his editing. Gruber is the founder of Gruber Photographers Inc., where he leads a team specializing in fine arts photography, banquet photography, and wedding photography. He has photographed high-profile figures such as Michael Douglas and Billy Joel. As an author, he is known for several books featuring cat photography, including 'Working Cats' (1979), 'Fat Cats' (1981), and 'Cat High: The Yearbook' (1984). His filmmaking work includes the 1989 film 'Not Just Any Flower,' which was made under the thesis advisorship of Martin Scorsese and is held in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.[2,3,4,5]
