Theo van Doesburg (1883–1931) was a Dutch painter, writer, poet, and architect who played a pivotal role in the development of early 20th-century avant-garde art. He is most famous as the founder and leader of De Stijl, an artistic movement that advocated for abstract geometric forms and primary colors. Born Christian Emil Küpper, he adopted his mother's surname 'Doesburg' to establish a distinct identity in the art world. His theories on Neo-Plasticism influenced architecture, typography, and design globally. He was also active in Dadaist circles and collaborated with artists like Kurt Schwitters.[1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8]
