Timothy Epps

author

Timothy Epps was a researcher and designer associated with the National Physical Laboratory in Middlesex, England. In 1969, he collaborated with Dr. Christopher Evans to develop an alphabet specifically designed for machine readability while maintaining human legibility. This work was a response to challenges regarding typefaces used with cathode-ray tube (CRT) systems. His design, published in 1970 as 'Alphabet' by Steendrukkerij De Jong & Co., became part of the Kwadraatblad/Quadrat-prints series, which explored radical typographic experiments.[1,2,3]
