Todd Webb

Todd Webb (born Charles Clayton Webb) was an American photographer and author known for his extensive documentation of New York City, Paris, and the American Southwest. He began his professional photography career in 1946, following studies under Ansel Adams at the Detroit Camera Club. Webb served as a photographer for various institutions, including the Standard Oil Company and the United Nations. His work is held in permanent collections at major museums such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Art Institute of Chicago, and the New Mexico Museum of Art. He was a recipient of several prestigious honors, including Guggenheim Fellowships in Photography (1955, 1956) and a National Endowment for the Arts photography fellowship (1979). His book 'Looking Back: Memoirs and Photographs' provides personal insights into his life as a photographer, featuring journal entries and stories about contemporaries like Georgia O'Keeffe.[1]
